Tom is an experienced trial lawyer in Skagit County and former Prosecuting Attorney for both Skagit and San Juan Counties. Tom was on the Skagit Valley College Board of Trustees for ten years.  He has also served on the boards of Skagit Community Foundation, New Earth Recover, Padilla Bay Foundation, Washington Environmental Council and North Pacific Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. He was a member of the Ethics Committee for Affiliated Health Services for over ten years.

He has served as a Hearing Examiner for Skagit County, San Juan County, City of Mount Vernon, and the City of Sedro Woolley.

Washington Law & Politics Magazine selected Tom as Super Lawyer, 2001 through 2005 and 2007. The Washington State Bar Association awarded the Local Hero Award in 2010 for Tom’s work in Skagit County for underserved people in the community.

Tom graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law, obtained an MPA from George Washington University and a BA from Central Washington University. While in Washington D.C he worked as a Staff Assistant for Congressman Mike McCormack. He was also a Legislative Intern for Representative Sid Morrison in the Washington State Legislature.

Tom is a veteran having served in the U.S. Army, Infantry, from 1967 to 1969.

He is an active member of Bethany Covenant Church.  He lives in Mount Vernon with his wife. He can be found golfing on sunny days.
