Chief Financial Officer


Born and raised in the Mountain States, Mel relocated to Seattle after graduation from Idaho State
University with bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and English. His early professional career was spent in
public accounting with Price Waterhouse as a Senior Audit Manager and as a partner in a regional CPA
practice with offices in Seattle and Anchorage. His public accounting experience provided the unique
opportunity to view and experience a wide variety of management styles and exposure to many
industries. Since leaving public accounting and for the last forty years he has held a variety of senior
financial and operational management positions with companies including CFO of Stetson-Ross,
Regional Controller and then President of Sysco Food Services of Seattle, CFO of Food Services of
America, and CFO of Draper Valley Farms. He has also provided financial and business consulting
services for the past twenty years to a variety of clients in the retail, wholesale, manufacturing, and
service industries as a private consultant. He began providing management consulting services to Land
Title and Escrow in 2013 and in 2015 was offered and accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer
and was subsequently promoted to Chief Executive Officer. At the beginning of 2021 he has semi-
retired and will again serve as the Chief Financial Officer.

Mel moved to Skagit Valley in 1999 and enjoys living and working on a secluded forest retreat in the
Cascade foothills. He is actively involved in his church and community. He served four years in the Air
Force stationed in Germany.

Mel and his wife Ann are the parents of seven children and seven grandchildren.
